ABRAHAM BAH'S PROFILE
Abraham Briam Bah was born unto the union of Mr. & Mrs. Bah in Kakata, Margibi County, Republic of Liberia. A family man, Mr. Bah and his beautiful wife, Ashley, have been married for a litter over 16 years now. They are blessed with two wonderful sons. The family resides at: 9718 Evergreen Avenue North, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
Currently, Mr. Bah is Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Organization of Liberians in Minnesota (OLM). Prior to joining OLM as a board member and eventually chairperson, he spearheaded the fundraising efforts for the July 26th, 2015 Independence Day celebration for the organization. In that role, he succeeded in generating substantial amount of funds for a fruitful commemoration that brought together Diaspora Liberians from all walks of life. This show of capability led to the larger Liberian community seeing in him a potential to play a leadership role in OLM.
Mr. Bah was elected chairman of the Board of Directors of OLM in March 2017. His ascendency to OLM's board chairmanship was timely as the organization was in a state of near stagnancy. With his experience and knowledge of organizational leadership, he and his fellow board members have succeeded in breathing new life into the organization, setting the stage for its growth into the years ahead. Beyond his role at OLM, Mr. Bah is also involved with other community efforts. He is the Fundraising Committee Chairperson for Masjid Al Ansar Islamic Community center. His leadership on that front has enabled the Masjid to purchase a building that is now being converted into its own modern worship and community center. Mr. Bah also served the Minnesota Mandingo Association as its 2013 Elections Commission Chairperson. In 1996, prior to immigrating to the United States of America, Mr. Bah was assistant Repatriation Officer for UNHCR assigned to the German Technical Corporation (GTZ).
In his professional life, Mr. Bah has been a supervisor at Stella Medical Company and is presently a Corporate Trainer for Boston Scientific Corporation. He holds a Master of Art (M.A.) degree in Organizational Leadership with concentration in Strategic management from St. Catherine University in Minnesota. He also holds a Master of Art (M.A.) degree in Special Education with emphasis in Emotional Behavioral Disorders from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. In addition, he was awarded a Certificate in Ethic and Leadership Studies from St. Catherine University. Mr. Bah has received several wards and nominations. He was awarded a Certificate of Commendation by the State of Minnesota for his work in the field of Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD) and is the first African student to be included on the Wall of Frame at the Department of Organization Leadership at St. Catherine University.
